Belonging to the Indian Administrative Service 1985 batch, and worked across several sectors including Tribal, Women & child development, urban development & poverty alleviation. Worked as Finance Secretary of the combined State of Andhra Pradesh and has expertise in handling public finance. Since 2013, managed the employment intensive sectors of textiles and food processing industries at the national level in the Government of India, including policy making.
She headed the Ministry Food Processing Industries Government of India for more than 3 years. Designed new initiatives for the micro industries in these sectors for upgradation and formalization.
Had high level exposure to policy making having worked in the Prime Minister’s Office for 4 years. Worked with DFID UK as Governance Adviser for 3 years.
She has master’s degree in Development Planning and Project Management from the University of Bradford UK, and Masters in Political Science from University of Hyderabad.
Her major strengths are institutional development, capacity building and project management, with special interest in urban poverty and Micro Industries.
